Out & About: Wadden Sea Centre
The Wadden Sea Center is the gate to the Unesco World Heritage Site the Wadden Sea, a unique landscape on the west coast of Denmark. It is a poetic building which almost seems to rise from the ground – gently adapting itself to the flat marshland. On the tour the director Klaus Melbye will talk about the architecture competition, the building process and the cooperation with Dorte Mandrups architecture office and the client Esbjerg municipality. The tour starts outside in the unique courtyard, which narrates the dynamic forces of the Wadden Sea, and continues in the exhibition spaces, where the focus will be on the architecture and design. There will be a possibility to visit the exhibition before or after the tour.
