Full-day tour to the past, present and future of Doha. The tour is focused on the unique new architectural style and typology developed for the prestige Msheireb project in the Heart of Doha.

The tour starts at the hotel of the group with a brief introduction to Doha’s city structure and urban fabric.

For the first visit will leave the capital and visit the newly restored historical fisher village Madinat Al Waqra, approx.. 20min south of Doha to explore the rich historical architectural typologies of Arabic courtyard houses. The tour continues with a visit to the vibrant Souk Waqif, which is one of the very few still existing active souks (market places) in the region.

Based on the architectural heritage of the historical city parts, a visit to the construction site and exhibition centre of the Mshreib project document the development of the new architectural, urban and design elements, used to develop design guidelines for the new city centre of Doha in contract to the high-rise development of West Bay’s Business district.

On the way through the city we will visit several architectural masterpieces such as the construction site of the National Museum or the prestige tower Burj Qatar (both designed by Jean Nouvell) or the iconic Museum of Islamic Art by I.M. Pei.

The tour ends at your hotel.
