In this tour we visited the historic center of the city, getting an overview and understanding all the urban structure preserved since the times of the Colony, analyzing the strategic reasons of its summons within Santiago basin. Then we will observe the coexistence of the most representative works of the different architectural stages that compose this scheme, walking in search of ancient buildings interventions and reshuffles, which will allow us to approach the historic wealth of that part of the city, from a contemporary glance of Chilean architecture.

This tour begins with an introduction at the feet of Santa Lucía Hill, exact place where the city was founded and from where begins the colonial grid. Then we will enter walking in direction to Plaza de Armas, considered the 0 Zone of Chile, here we will also see Santiago Cathedral.

Following we will visit the Government Palace, here we will descend to the cultural center constructed under the Citizenship park, in the journey we will stop at a typical downtown urban culture coffee. A few steps away we will find the Pre-Columbian Art Museum, entering the bowels of native culture, from the optics of Smiljan Radic contemporary architecture.

We will have lunch at the historic Yungay neighborhood, where we will also visit the artists residence at Centro Nave building.

Finally, we will end at GAM, the greatest contemporary work present at the center of the city, an emblematic building with a high historic charge, renovated in 2009 after a mass public competition.
