The historic center of Vienna is listed as UNESCO world heritage – contemporary architecture meets this challenge with surprising new inserts, in gaps and interiors, in basements and on rooftops. The walk crosses the center, passing by some of the most suggestive squares and streets, while the emphasize of the visits is on new buildings respectively interiors. Modernism is also present with landmarks of architectonic renewal, such as the postal savings bank by Otto Wagner or the „Looshaus“ in Michaelerplatz.
