A tour for the first visit to Frankfurt and an introduction to the variations of modern architecture.

The first destination is the ‘Westhafen’ (western harbor): a former commercial harbor, now used for office buildings and luxury apartments, with a dock. The ‘Westhafen-tower’ could be considered a landmark, with its facade formed by glass-triangles.
On the river banks, the museums built in the eighties give an overview of the architectural tendencies of this period.
This is also where you have a nice panorama of the high-rise buildings on the north side of the river.
The tour will continue through the ‘Römerberg’, the historical centre of Frankfurt, an area with different historic and modern buildings. You will see the cathedral, the town-hall ‘Der Römer’, reconstructed framework houses, the building site for the ‘new historic city’, the exposition-hall ‘Schirn’ and the Saalgasse (street) with city-houses built in the eighties; and the ‘new old town Altstadt’ of Frankfurt, a mix of reconstructed and new buildings, opened in 2018.
The walk will finish on the view terrace on top of the ‘MainTower’ at a height of 200 m. From there you will have a marvelous view of Frankfurt and its environs.
