Guiding Architects, article-oaa: Multifunctional Hall in Imperial Spa (Fig. 1)

Architect Petr Hájek unveils the revitalized centerpiece of the Imperial Spa. This guided tour introduces an independent steel-and-timber structure conceived as a multifunctional venue, dramatically suspended within the historic building like a vessel enclosed in glass and supported by six structural legs. Installed in the space once occupied by peat-processing equipment, the adaptable intervention features adjustable acoustics designed for both orchestral performances and film festival screenings. Learn how this carefully engineered insertion reactivates a 19th-century landmark while fully preserving its original historic fabric.
