Valencia City Center: Boris Strzelczyk (Thumbnail)
Boris Strzelczyk
Valence

Boris Strzelczyk was born in southern Germany and, at the age of one, moved with his family to a small coastal town in Spain, where he grew up by the Mediterranean Sea. Boris studied architecture at the ETSAM in Madrid and began his professional training in the field that had always interested him.

He returned in 2006 to his adopted city of Valencia, where he founded GA Valencia. He currently runs his own architecture studio and designs and conducts tours. His interests focus on the culture, sociology, history and urban development that have shaped Valencia into a dynamic city that remains relatively undiscovered by many.

Visite à Valence:
Valencia City Center

Valencia has one of the largest and best-preserved historic centres in Europe. This tour offers an insight into the different urban patterns that have shaped the city over more than 2,000 years of history, focusing on a selection of key public spaces and buildings such as the Silk Exchange, the Central Market and the Town Hall Square, now designed as a traffic-free zone.

The tour focuses on the peatonalisation and public space recovery policies implemented in recent years, which have redefined community life in the historic centre. The expansion of pedestrian areas, the integration of green spaces to mitigate the effects of climate change and the commitment to sustainable mobility are analysed as urban planning tools aimed at improving quality of life. This experience allows visitors to understand how Valencia is addressing contemporary challenges from its historical heritage, combining historic preservation and urban transformation.
